Microcirculation represents an essential area for understanding vascular patients and making accurate diagnoses.
Among the various available methods, Capillaroscopy is particularly valuable for clinicians. It assists in evaluating a range of vascular diseases—such as PAD, lymphatic disorders, and venous conditions—by helping to analyze microcirculatory involvement and, in some cases, providing prognostic insight. For certain conditions, like Raynaud’s phenomenon and Acrocyanosis, Capillaroscopy serves as a diagnostic tool that can differentiate between primary and secondary cases, enabling early diagnosis and improving prognosis.
Specialists in Angiology/Vascular Medicine (used synonymously in Europe) should consider Capillaroscopy one of the most effective and beneficial diagnostic methods. It is also included in the UEMS European Training Requirements for Angiology/Vascular Medicine.
