Gustav V.R. Born VAS International Honorary Award for Research in Vascular Medicine

  • Mission: The award aims to promote advancements in vascular medicine by recognizing outstanding research excellence. It focuses on contributions to public health, vascular biology, haemostasis, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and platelet function.

  • Award: This biennial award honors one scientist who has made significant contributions to medical research in vascular medicine. The recipient is recognized during the European Angiology Days (held annually at the end of November). Awardees receive an honorary plaque and are inducted into the VAS International Academy.

Hans Klaus Breddin VAS International Honorary Award for Education in Vascular Medicine
 
  • MissionThe award is dedicated to fostering excellence in education within the field of vascular medicine. It honors educators who have significantly contributed to knowledge dissemination and training in angiology and vascular medicine.

     

  • AwardPresented every two years, the award acknowledges one individual for exceptional contributions to education in vascular medicine. The recipient is celebrated during the European Angiology Days, receiving an honorary plaque and membership in the VAS International Academy.

VAS Honorary International Award Committees

  • Two Commissions of high qualified Member for each. Defined rules.
  • 5 International Names with High Expertise in the Area of Angiology/Vascular Medicine and related disciplines (biology, pharmacology, etc). One will act on behalf of the VAS Board.
  • Honorary Awards will be delivered during the European Angiology Days.
  • Both the Awards are International Honorary Awards. The winners will receive an Honorary Title and a Plaque.

Nomination Process for VAS International Honorary Awards

Nominations must be submitted by October 1st of each year to the respective award committee. The submission should include:

  • Name, title, and institution of the nominee.
  • A comprehensive CV and bibliography of the nominee.
  • Detailed description of the nominee’s work (research or education), highlighting its relevance to the award’s mission.
  • Top five references related to the nominee’s contributions.
  • Two letters of support endorsing the nomination.
  • Contact information of the nominator.
 

All documents must be sent to vas@unimi.it, with the award name clearly specified in the email subject line.
